Customers can now complete the most popular transactions for their vehicles on their mobiles devices, following the latest update to the popular Service NSW app.
Minister for Finance, Services and Property, Dominic Perrottet said the app’s newest feature enabling customers to complete notice of disposal requests was another example of Service NSW delivering service excellence for the people of NSW.
“Being able to complete vehicle transactions using your smartphone or tablet from your home or office is just one of many ways we’re making it easier for customers to interact with government,” Mr Perrottet said.
“You can now relinquish a sold car quickly and easily before it has even reversed out of your driveway.”
Customers with a linked MyServiceNSW account can renew their vehicle registration, receive alerts, view or pay vehicle fines, update their license details, and now complete notice of disposal requests.
Mr Perrottet said the government is continuing to investigate ways to make it easier for customers to complete transactions via MyServiceNSW.
“Service NSW are continuing to investigate ways to improve the licensing process to make it more convenient but – most importantly – secure,” he said.
“We’re listening to our customers’ needs and improving our services at the same time. By doing this we are moving towards a greater digital footprint which will streamline processes for customers and keep their sensitive information safe.”
With the upcoming launch of digital licenses, customers will be able to carry virtual licenses on their phones, further reducing the threat of mail theft.
“Digital licenses will be a game changer for our citizens, offering benefits of security and convenience,” Mr Perrottet said.
More than 750,000 customers have now signed up for a MyServiceNSW account so far. For more information, visit www.service.nsw.gov.au. To download the mobile app, visit the iTunes Store or Google Play.
