Stanley Park To Benefit From Public Reserve Management Fund

Member for Hawkesbury Dominic Perrottet MP has announced the NSW Government will invest $12,000 to preserve one of Hawkesbury’s important public reserves and community hubs.

The East Kurrajong School of Arts Inc. who manage Stanley Park Crown Reserve in East Kurrajong were successful in securing funding towards the replacement of existing fencing, installation of non slip surface on the floors of the toilet block and a contribution towards painting of the exterior walls of the school of arts.

The 2016/17 funding allocation from the Public Reserves Management Fund Program is part of an $18 million annual program of grants and loans from the NSW Government to support the development, maintenance and protection of the public reserves.

“Public reserves in our region such as sportsgrounds, showgrounds, community halls, walking tracks and local parks are valued places which are used by our local community every day,” Mr Perrottet said.

“This funding is not only vital to the success of our regional communities, but also supports the role our professional and volunteer managers play in the ongoing management of the reserves.” Mr Perrottet said.

“This funding will allow the East Kurrajong School of Arts to now implement the improvements required to ensure Stanley Park can continue to be enjoyed by our local community now and into the future.”

“Over the last five years, more than $95 million has been allocated by the NSW Government under this annual funding program to provide financial support for the development, maintenance and protection of public reserves,” Mr Perrottet said.

“This program is just one example of the NSW Government’s commitment to the cultural, sporting, economic and recreational life of communities across our State.”
